Today's puzzle was constructed by Josh!

Josh says: "I thought it would be fun to construct a 7x7 around two intersecting words sharing a particular language of origin. In place of the entry that ultimately ended up at 5-across I originally had a different word that I particularly love (ROT13: FPUZHGM), but the final letter proved a bit limiting and so I went with an alternative that kept with the theme and was easier to construct cleanly with.
